On June 27, in line with the theme of the national Work Safety Month campaign—“Everyone talks about safety, everyone knows how to respond to emergencies, and life passages remain open”—Hongda Group’s Safety and Environmental Protection Department and Hongda Company’s Safety Section organized an emergency rescue drill for a sudden special-equipment accident. Wang Deng, deputy director of the Yishui County Administration for Market Regulation; Li Pengfei, head of the county’s Special Equipment Inspection Section; Li Jin, captain of the law-enforcement squad; and company leaders attended the event.
The drill simulated an emergency in which a pipeline used to unload and transfer acetaldehyde ruptured, causing an acetaldehyde leak, and a person who discovered the leak fainted. After discovering the incident, an inspection worker immediately reported it to the head of the Warehousing Section. The section head promptly activated the department-level emergency response plan and requested support from the company’s emergency command center and its professional firefighting team. The relevant emergency personnel then arrived at the scene in a timely manner, eliminated the hazard and restored production.
Wang Deng, deputy director of the Yishui County Administration for Market Regulation, commented that the drill had been well prepared and carefully organized and had achieved its goals of familiarizing personnel with the emergency plan, training the response team and improving emergency capabilities.
